Unisa Courses - National Diploma (Horticulture) (NDHOT)

Description

This programme has an excellent reputation in the horticultural industry, as is clear from students’ participation in the award winning Chelsea Flower Show and the College’s appointment as turf grass training partner to Cricket South Africa (CSA). As these achievements show, this diploma prepares students for many possible careers, from garden designer and nursery manager to plant propagator and garden maintenance specialist. Designed with input from the horticulture industry, this programme prepares students to apply the latest technologies and strategies, and to follow environmentally-friendly production procedures.

The programme combines theory with practical training in the form of compulsory practical sessions, as well as hands-on workplace exposure (called experiential learning) in a horticultural environment.
