South Africa has hosted a succesful Confederations Cup with Brazil winning the cup. Do you think that SA is ready for the 2010 Soccer world Cup?
Most people don't seem to share the view that the success of the confederations cup means that we are ready for the 2010 world cup. It appears that some people are not happy about SA hosting the event although there not a single one of them has stated the reasons why SA should not host the event.
The SA government has branded the world cup as an opportunity for South Africans, more especially small businesses. But it small businesses don't seem to share the same view because of of processes they believe are put in place by the organising committe to sideline them. During the confederations cup we saw taxi operators picketting and claiming that they were left outside and were not going to benefit. It still remains unclear as to how the world cup event will benefit these smmes.
