Bursaries are offered by different companies in South Africa. These bursaries are for all type of qualifications that are offered by universities in South Africa. There are also bursaries for students who intend studying at technikons to pursue different fields of study.

Bursaries fall within difference fields because companies offering them operate in difference sectors of the economy. The intention of companies that offer bursaries is to comply with the legislation. Most students who get sponsored are from disadvantaged backgrounds but with good matriculated results.

Bursaries are divided into two categories: undergraduates bursaries and postgraduate bursaries. Undergraduate bursaries cover student who are enrolling or have already enrolled on their first qualification after matric. These will pay for tuition fee as well as accommodation fees. Not all bursaries will cover accommodation cost.
